Review of ThinkPad 600 E - PII 366 MHz - 13.3" TFT by jonston

Advantages: Cheap second hand laptop great for surfing net with wifi pcmcia card

Firstly let me explain why I'm writing this review. I bought one of these for £199 UK pounds popped in a Wifi Pcmcia car (12 Pounds) and now I'm surfing the web!!! Myspace, Ebay, Emailing, writing this review! All for less than 50 quid?? Okay, its not the greatest looking, shiny, super duper fast new laptop but my wife has just bought a laptop for 1000 ...
...writing reviews!! This laptop is abound 3 years old I guess but if it has survived so long I'm sure it will keep going for some time longer. My wife's new shiny toy has been to the PC doctor a couple of times so far, and oh yes she has asked to use my "Old Tank" while her "Zippy new Porsche" is having its oil changed. Metaphorically speaking of course! So, once again its not a great looking laptop but its built very solidly. Nice bright screen. ...

Fully Installed & Internet Ready. Just switch on and use!!!

Subsitutue of a higher spec may be offered due to stock levels

I have a 2k Apple Mac, an iPad a a bluray Sony vaio with 17inch screen. And I have to tell you last week I purchases a IBM thinkpad 600x several years old. Pentium III. 20gb and I'm totally in love with it. It isn't pretty but it's just one of this things I have to have for the sake of saying 1) it works 2) it's timeless 3) it's not about money 4) the space shuttle to repair the humble carried one! I'm in love with the 600x!!!

You won't believe this but I am writing this from a ThinkPad I Series! Yes my baby is about 12 years old and still going strong...well, not as keen on all the flashy media etc one of the reasons am upgrading soon. But yes, this is a commitment machine it stays for a long time. Built to last:)

its not a great looking laptop but its built very solidly, with nice bright screen, with no noisy fan... its keyboard feels good. It plays MP3 files, shows pictures, plays CDs, even plays DVDs (not astonishing, but ok), and of course surfs the net fast and sufficiently. Guys, it is cheap! For such a little money I get such a big range of functions. :) I don't know why somebody turns up his nose at such “toys”. I'm fully pleased with my old “notebook”. :)

I've got this machine for ridiculous price. Added some components to speed up some of its functions and voilà! Have a rather good laptop for all my needs. I'm going to use this as a starter computer for my son who is 5 now.
